Here is a quick run through the stuff we get asked all the time. If require a bit more detail then get in touch and we can answer anything we’ve missed here.

How many characters in an SMS send?
There are up to 160 characters in an SMS “send”. If your message is longer that that the messages are compiled on their way through our gateway.
Can I use ‘mid call breakout’ or ‘call fowarding’ from the API?
Yes you can but this will require some custom integration from the Kawler Ops team. Calls that break out to a Call Centre generally use SIP to route the calls so we would build you a custom Campaign but you would still trigger the Campaign send using an API call.
How do I buy credits in advance?
You can request credit through your account manager who will arrainge for the credit to be added to your account
Do credits ever expire?
Credits never expire and are only used when we successfully communicate your messages. If a text isn’t successfully sent to your contact’s carrier or a voice message doesn’t get to a live person or voicemail, you aren’t charged for it.
How do monthly plans work?
The monthly plan is best for users who want to send messages to the same contacts each month. Pricing is based on how many unique phone numbers you message. You can change, pause, or cancel your plan at any time.
Are there any set-up fees?
No, we are dedicated to getting you on board with the minimum of fuss or outlay.
Is English the only language that Kawler can use to send Voice nessages?
No, Kawler can use many different languages. You can get hold of a full list of the available voices and languages by contacting the Kawler sales team.
Is my data held in the UK?
Yes it is. Kawler can be configured to come and collect Campaign sends from an SFTP site of your choosing or if you are using the API all the elements that make up a Kawler send take place within the UK. If you are sending an SMS or phone call outside the UK then it goes without saying that there is an element to the process which is outside the UK but the technical infrastructure remains here.
Which countries can I send SMS to?
A standard Kawler SMS send will work for most of Europe at no extra charge and we can add routes through to the rest of the world on request.
How many times does Kawler retry sending a Voice call?
It’s up to you. If you send from the API and then poll for a result you can keep trying as many times as you like. If you send using the Kawler Console you can set the retry policy when you build the Campaign.
How does Kawler deal with Voicemail?
At the start of the call you will hear a request to ‘press a key to hear this message’. We use the response to determine whether we have a liviing breathing human on the line or a Voicemail service. If it is Voicemail we wait until we detect the recording process and then play out the message we have configured for Voicemail within the Campaign.
Can I white label the Kawler Console?
Yes, our team would be happy to customise the look of the Kawler Console to reflect your visual identity.
